1. Why Hire the Rondo String Quartet?
The Rondo String Quartet rehearses and performs with the same four members.  We have a wide selection of music including many styles from classical to current music. We have had years of experience, playing for countless events. The quartet is dedicated to help make your event special.

2. Why Hire a String Quartet Instead of a Smaller Ensemble?
Unlike other small ensembles, string quartets have the largest repertoire to choose from, and produce a rich and full sound. The missing part(s) do make a HUGE difference, with the smaller ensemble sounding thinner. A smaller ensemble does not project as well and lacks the support of the lush sound people have come to expect.

3. Why Hire Rondo Rather Than an Agency or Entertainment Group With a Larger Pool of Players?

Agencies and entertainment groups with a larger pool of players may not provide an established group who regularly rehearse and play together, and may not send a group who is formiliar with what is needed to manage an event successfully.  Rondo is able to give personal service that an agent or entertainment group may not be able to provide.  Our clients enjoy speaking directly to the performers who will be at the event.

4. What Do You Require at the Venue?
Four chairs with no arms. We prefer at least a six by six area.

5. How Do the Musicians Dress?
The quartet dresses in formal black.

6. Do You Play Outdoors?
Yes. Our only concerns are for the safety of the instruments, and our ability to provide quality music. We prefer to be in full shade, and there must be no precipitation. The temperature must be at least 62 degrees so that our fingers can play. (Please contact us if there is no shade available in the area so we can make arrangements).

7. Do You Take Breaks?
Yes. The quartet will take a short break after each hour played.

8. Can You Move From One Place to Another?
Yes. We often play during separate parts of events, such as during a ceremony, then during the reception.

SPECIFIC CEREMONY QUESTIONS

9. Can You Give Me Music Suggestions?
Yes. Please contact us for suggestions. You may also choose to look at our ceremony suggestion list, located on the second page of our play list.

10. Do You Attend Wedding Ceremony Rehearsals?
Due to our schedules, we do not attend wedding ceremony rehearsals. We will discuss the details of your selections over the phone or via email. On your ceremony day, we will arrive approximately 30 minutes before we are scheduled to play, to verify that our cues are correct. If you are having us play for your processional and/or recessional, please be assured that we are adept at timing the music to the correct length.

11. How Should The Group Be Listed in a Bulletin?
You may list us as the Rondo String Quartet. It is not necessary to list individual members.

12. Do You Perform at Receptions as Well as Ceremonies?
Yes. We have a wide variety and selection of music.

13. When Do I Need to Have My Wedding Music Chosen?
In order for us to plan ahead, we ask that you have your final selections no later than six weeks before your wedding. We would be happy to assist you in your song selections.

14. Should I Have Music Before My Ceremony?
We recommend fifteen minutes of prelude music. If you have a lot of out-of-town guests, you may prefer thirty minutes.

15. How Many Prelude Pieces Should I Choose?
If you have specific favorites that you would like us to play, please consult our play list and choose three or four pieces. We will add more, if necessary, using the style of the pieces you have selected. If you do not have an requests, we will be happy to choose for you.

16. How Will You Know When to Start the Processional Music?
We will need a cue from a wedding coordinator, a representative from the venue, or someone else of your choosing. We will seek out the pre-arranged person before the ceremony to confirm.

17. Do We Need to Time Our Ceremony Music in Order to Finish Walking the Music?
No. We will time our music to you. We are experienced and skilled at ending pieces at the right time. We only need to know how many people are processing to each piece.

18. Do You Play Traditional Catholic Wedding Mass Music?
Due to the fact that this music involves the congregration singing, we ask that you hire an organist, pianist or cantor to play and sing this music. We can perform with these people, if we have the music, or if the music is provided to us.
