It was a magical night in many ways. Shawntae and Stephen were married in the atrium of the McGregor Memorial Conference Center on the campus of Wayne State by non-other than Dumbledore. The couple’s friend, Jordan Climie, fulfilled the role of this Harry Potter character with confidence and in fitting with the theme; we played Hedwig’s Theme as he entered. The couple admits to enjoying all things sci-fi and their two sided wedding cake displayed their romantic and fun side. Shawntee processed to Tale as Old as Time from Beauty and the Beast and the couple recessed to The Throne Room from Star Wars followed by the Doctor Who Theme. Clearly this couple loved the movies so we played all our medleys for the cocktail hour including Star Trek, Game of Thrones and Concerning Hobbits. As the guests entered dinner, they were each given a “Harry Potter wand” for the evening’s enjoyment. Carrie Gentry of Touch of Elegance Events and Design did an outstanding job orchestrating this themed wedding. It was a delight to be a part of this fun event and we wish Stephen and Shawntae the very best!
