Some wedding days feel warm before the music even starts. Avery and Preston Ormanian’s celebration at Moose Ridge Golf Course in South Lyon had that kind of welcome, with family close by, a rustic lodge setting, and the kind of personal touches that make a ceremony feel completely their own.

Their day brought together everything that makes a lodge-style wedding feel memorable: woodsy charm, heartfelt family involvement, beautiful florals, delicious food, and a playlist that moved naturally from Taylor Swift to Lana Del Rey to one of the happiest wedding announcements imaginable.

Moose Ridge Golf Course has a distinct personality. The clubhouse has a “Montana Lodge” style that feels cozy, warm, and welcoming the moment guests arrive. It is the kind of reception space that does not need to pretend to be rustic. The wood, lodge-inspired decor, and natural setting already do the work. The lodge at Moose Ridge also offers authentic BBQ catering, and it absolutely fit the setting. The smell alone was enough to get everyone looking forward to dinner.

For Avery and Preston, that atmosphere fit beautifully. The space felt relaxed but still special, with enough rustic detail to make the reception feel intimate and true to the couple’s style. It gave guests a comfortable place to gather, celebrate, eat, dance, and settle into the evening.

One of the things that stood out was how well the venue supported the flow of the day. A wedding can look effortless from the guest side, but behind the scenes there are always moving parts. Timing, setup, ceremony transitions, vendor coordination, and reception details all matter.

Madeline Shortt, the venue coordinator, was exceptionally helpful and kind throughout the celebration. That kind of calm presence makes a real difference. When a coordinator knows the space well and helps everyone feel taken care of, the whole day feels smoother.

A playlist with personality

Avery and Preston enjoy an eclectic mix of music, which made the day especially fun. Their requests included some of our favorites, and the ceremony had a great blend of familiar hits and moody, stylish choices.

Taylor Swift was part of the soundtrack, bringing those instantly recognizable songs that pull people in. Lana Del Rey added a different texture, dreamy and cinematic, giving the playlist more personality than a standard wedding set.

Avery and Preston exchanged vows before family and friends under the gazebo at Moose Ridge. The setting had a simple beauty to it, with the open-air feel of the golf course and the warm character of the lodge nearby.

The gazebo was decorated with lovely floral arrangements created by Avery’s mother, Amy. That detail made the ceremony feel even more personal. Florals are always beautiful, but when they are made by someone close to the couple, they carry another layer of meaning.

Preston’s uncle, Jarred Ormanian, officiated the ceremony. Having a family member lead the vows gave the moment a heartfelt and familiar tone. It is one of those choices that guests remember because it feels honest. The ceremony was not just formal. It felt connected to the people who helped shape Avery and Preston’s story.

Family involvement was woven throughout the day in a way that never felt forced. Amy’s florals, Jarred’s role as officiant, and the loved ones gathered around the gazebo all gave the wedding a sense of closeness.

The announcement of Mr. and Mrs. Ormanian was celebrated with “This Will Be An Everlasting Love,” a perfect choice for such a joyful introduction. Some songs just know how to fill a room with happiness, and that one did exactly what it needed to do.

That is often what makes a ceremony stand out. The location matters, the decor matters, and the music matters, but the most memorable part is the feeling in the space when everyone is focused on two people making a promise.
