Mike Deck officiates the wedding of Jonathon and Lauren at The Icon's Riverfront Venue.

Jonathan and Lauren were married beside the Detroit River at The Icon, a premier Detroit riverfront venue. Basketball played an important role in this couples love story as Jonathan is a University of Michigan and the couple met in San Antonio when Michigan played in the Final 4. This enjoyment of the sport was evident in their chosen recessional song, One Shining Moment. The song refers to the iconic David Barrett song that served as the soundtrack to the NCAA men's basketball tournament highlight montage, celebrating the entire season's journey of effort, passion, victory, and defeat.

On this day, the "shining moment" was Lauren and Jonathon's wedding celebration. A day of joy and love shared with family and friends. Haley and her staff at Haley Makay Events along with Danielle Balmer and The Icon staff did an incredible job bringing this large event together. Our quartet had the pleasure of playing the couple's many choices during the wedding including One Shining Moment. For cocktails, we performed our classic rock hits along with Disney, Musicals and current covers. Though a warm day, the clouds cooperated by providing some shade and everyone had a great time on the terrace.

Outside cocktails were followed by dinner with the band, Your Generation in Concert to cap off the evening. For two weeks in a row, we encountered our colleague Cheyenne of Weddings by Cheyenne. She does great work as does Videographer Bella Reel. Always a top vendor, 2 Unique Catering was present much to the guests delight.

In basketball, you pass and share the ball resulting is success for the team. In marriage, a couple can share the ball with compromise. May today be the beginning of a long, compromise-filled journey together. Wishing this couple a very joy-filled life.”
