Watching a student grow into a skilled musician is one of the most rewarding experiences for any music teacher. When that student chooses to share their talent on a milestone day like their wedding, it becomes a moment of deep fulfillment and honor. This story celebrates Megann, a highly trained professional violinist, and her husband Erick, whose wedding day was filled with music, faith, and meaningful connections.
A Special Wedding at Good Shepherd Lutheran and Twin Lakes Country Club
Megann and Erick chose Good Shepherd Lutheran in Lake Orion, Michigan, for their wedding ceremony. The church’s warm atmosphere and beautiful architecture provided a perfect setting for their vows. Following the ceremony, guests gathered at Twin Lakes Country Club, where the reception unfolded amid scenic views and elegant surroundings.
The day was not only a celebration of their union but also a reflection of their shared values and passions. Music played a central role, highlighting Megann’s journey as a musician and the couple’s deep faith.
The Challenge and Joy of Performing for the Wedding
As a professional violinist, Megann selected several pieces that held personal significance. These were not simple choices; each piece demanded technical skill and emotional depth. We embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and enjoyed performing the Nocturne from Borodin’s String Quartet No. 2, Prelude from Grieg’s Holberg Suite and Jupiter Hymn from Holst’s The Planets. This hymn is a majestic and uplifting composition, which brought a sense of grandeur to Megann's bridal processional. Performing these works at the wedding was a unique opportunity to honor Megann’s musical journey.
Faith as the Foundation of Their Life Together
Megann and Erick’s wedding was more than a ceremony; it was a declaration of their commitment to build their life on enduring principles. Their faith was evident throughout the day, guiding their actions and decisions. Rather than relying solely on fleeting emotions, they chose to base their marriage on the teachings of Jesus. This foundation offered strength and clarity, helping them navigate life’s challenges with a shared sense of purpose.
Megann and Erick’s wedding was a beautiful example of how music, faith, and personal achievement can come together to create a meaningful celebration. For me as her first violin teacher, it was a moment of joy and fulfillment that will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations to this beautiful couple. “May the spark in your eyes stay forever, and may this auspicious bonding be blessed by the Almighty.”
